At the end of last season 8 of our regular 1st XV hung up their boots or moved to pastures new, so we approach this season with a very new look squad.

As often happens at Barnes, people are drawn to the club by mates coming down to pre-season training or by mates already playing. When they here about the quality of the club on the pitch and the craic off the pitch it proves a potent tonic that they willingly want to drink and this year it is no different.

A bunch of elder brethren ventured down to see an early pre-season session at Barn Elms and the size, power and pace of our new recruits was enough to create a frisson amongst the aged gathered throng, not a feeling they give into easily! So we have reasons to be cheerful and hopeful!

Of course we always need more players so if you fancy getting into the Barnow swing over the next 6 weeks before the season kicks off feel free to come down to Barn Elms on Mondays and Wednesdays in July and Tuesdays and Thursdays in August, and throughout the season!
